We are Unto the Earth, a four piece metal band out of Chicago, straddling the lines between stoner, desert, doom, and sludge, with shoegaze and heavy psych influences.

Formed in 2019, we have embarked on a musical odyssey that combines driving drums, melodic basslines, layered guitars, and evocative lyrics, while paying tribute to the influences of our youth.

The Dawning, our debut full-length album, available now on all major streaming platforms.

"Unto the Earth may be influenced by many different bands of the Hard Rock/Metal scene but The Dawning is their show and they're in complete control of this brilliantly insane album. With first rate production values helping the band deliver a punishing audio experience, this allows The Dawning to be one of the best debut albums to be released this year.

This is a wonderfully diverse album that the underground scene needs to know about now." - Steve Howe, Outlaws of the Sun

"It’s a blend that gives UNTO THE EARTH a sound all their own - reaching even listeners beyond the usual Metal circles.

Their music, grounded in Doom and Stoner foundations, often dips into Psychedelic and Desert Rock via tasteful use of effects . . . . The result is a rich, uncluttered sound that resonated throughout their 40-minute set, successfully whetting the appetite for “Tempest Apeiron”. Definitely a band to watch."

- Maria Voutiriadou

"The Dawning makes good on the potential that I'd gleaned seeing Unto the Earth play live here in Chicago. The band combines stoner rock and doom - an obvious pairing, of course - with elements of grunge and alternative metal - less obvious, maybe. Hazy tones and a wide-open production set the stage for a space western, perhaps: heat, dust, and mystery abound."

- Ted Nubel, Invisible Oranges
